All the things that truly matter: love, kindness, creativity, beauty, joy.
The Kelly Ann Brown Foundation was formed in 2011 with five board members: Kelly’s parents, Steven Paschall and Katy Jo Steward, Kelly’s brothers, David Brown Steward and Eric Martincavage, and Kelly’s best friend, Debra Hannula. We are saddened to report that we lost Steve Paschall to cancer on November 16, 2017. You can read our tribute to our beloved Steve here. As Steve was battling cancer, so was his son David Brown Steward. Devastatingly, David died on June 8, 2018. David’s website captures him perfectly.
Kelly Ann Brown Foundation welcomes David’s beautiful wife Maria Porter Steward to the board. Maria has extensive expertise. She graduated from UC Berkeley graduate school with two masters’ degrees. She ran a nonprofit in Berkeley, and was a philanthropic advisor with Marin Community Foundation for several years. Katy Jo, Deb, Maria and Eric are committed to fulfilling Kelly Ann Brown Foundation’s mission and will do so with Kelly, Steve and David in our hearts, minds and spirits.
